Illinoisans Can Still Vote (for Herp Party)

In politics, being a snake can sometimes get you ahead. Through December 31, 2004, Illinoisans can vote for their official state reptile and amphibian at Brookfield Zoo's Web site. The three amphibian candidates are the gray tree frog, eastern tiger salamander, and American toad. The candidates for reptilian representative are the eastern box turtle, common garter snake, and painted turtle. Visit the Zoo's Web site, click on "What's New," and scroll down to "Cold-Blooded Candidates."
