Tiger Salamander and Painted Turtle Win Election

Calling it a “groundbreaking experiment in electronic democracy,” Illinois Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn announced in January the winners of the election for the official state amphibian and reptile: the eastern tiger salamander and the painted turtle. Both are common throughout Chicago Wilderness.
