The Natural Web: Local Sites Provide
Guide to Nature
Bring the delicate song of an Indigo
bunting to your desktop at the Chicago Department of the
Environment (DOE) Web site, "A
Bird's Eye View of the Migratory Bird Route." The
newly launched site features the sights, sounds and habitat
needs of the birds that rest and nest in Chicago Wilderness.
You can also take a "Chicago
River Tour" on yet another DOE site. Virtually
explore the Chicago River's environment, learn its history,
and meet the groups and agencies that are working to restore
this natural resource.
To find out about nature workshops,
fieldtrips, and volunteer opportunities throughout the city,
download "The Nature Chicago Calendar" as a PDF
from the Chicago DOE "Natural
Resources" page.
For a listing of fall events, visit
our Chicago Wilderness Magazine's Calendar.
